Should The ISPs Provide A Better And Faster Internet At Cheaper Rates?

As many of you guys have seen, I'm very active in here and post some random questions once in a while so, here's today's question, "Should The ISPs Provide A Better And Faster Internet At Cheaper Rates?"

So, the answer is both yes and no.

Why yes?

Because it'll help in the following things:

1) Growth of technology and awareness in India.

2) Increase the online bussiness.

3) Make India one more step closer to compete from the USA.

4) Attract more and more people to get online and become smarter (Well, if you get what I mean).

5) And above all, downloading and uploading data at much faster rates (I'm feeling so high right now).

Why no?

Piracy. Now, this one word is much bigger than the five points I've stated above, due to it millions of dollars are pirated online everyday digitally in the form of games, movies, songs etc. (This reminds me of The Pirate Bay).

Well, how can ISPs improve their connection speed and lower the prices?

The clear answer is Optical Fibre lines, in India this work is going on, the govt. has taken the responsibility to lay down optical fibre lines but the work is very slow, I guess that it'll not get finished before 2018....

Where can I get the fastest internet connection in India if I wanted to?

Kerela: It has an insanely fast 1 GBPS internet connection which I think is provided by the govt. or IDK 'cause it's not stated anywhere.

Hyderabad: This city has Act Fibernet which provides 100 MBPS speed which is pretty good.

Any future of this?

Yes, there is if Google Fiber comes to India, it provides 1 GBPS internet connection for which we have to pay monthly and a one - time payment internet connection which gives us the average speeds of today's internet (Like USA or other high speed country).

Conclusion?

India seriously needs to higher the speeds and lower the rate of internet connections if it wants to compete with the world.

LeEco leaps to Top 2 brand with most market attention

(New Delhi/ Bangalore, 27 April) LeEco, the multinational internet ecosystem conglomerate successfully makes it to Top 2 brands with most market attention in India in April, after entering into India for less than four months. It has garnered market attention of 25%, closely following Apple (35%)and far ahead of Samsung (11%), according to the latest report by a leading Research and Measurement agency in India.

The figures from the report show that LeEco secured greater percentage of market attention of 25%, and the ranking has remarkable risen to Top 2, right behind Apple now, from the 4th position back in January. It has well surpassed Samsung and other competitors within no more than four months since its first entrance to the market.

LeEco has grabbed heavy attention and disrupted the Indian smartphone industry with the launch of Le 1s and Le Max, making foray into the Indian market in January this year. It has sold 2 lakhs Superphones within 30 days, receiving overwhelming responses from the public and in the first flash sale, 70,000 units of the flagship killer Le 1s were gone within 2 seconds, breaking three industry records and making it the No.1 best- selling smartphones online in India.

More than that, LeEco has a long-term and highly-anticipated plan for India and is committed to bringing the complete vertically-integrated Ecosystem to India. In order to take the user experience to a new height, LeEco has already signed deals with ErosNow for Video-on-demand (VOD) and with YuppTV for TV content streaming. To facilitate the seamless streaming of high-quality content, LeEco plans to invest 10 million USD to set up in-house Content Delivery Networks (CDN) across 10 cities in India by the end of this year. Besides, it has recently applied for the Foreign Investment Promotion Board’s (FIPB) approval to undertake the single brand retail trading of "Le" branded electronic products both through offline stores and e-commerce platform.

Globally, the disruptive Ecosystem business model has proved to be huge success and continued to transform people’s internet lifestyle with best-in-line ecosystem products and services powered by breakthrough technology and comprehensive ecosystem and disruptive pricing. Meanwhile, LeEco announced the pioneering and jaw-dropping “Free Hardware Day” in 14 April and lead the global industry to a brand new era where users should only pay for high-quality services and content, rather than the premium of hardware and the brand. The powerful and highly connected Ecosystem that LeEco boasts has shown enormous potential and attracted partnerships with various world-renowned companies, including establishing the joint-venture with Aston Martin to develop electric vehicles,
and inking strategic cooperation with Faraday Future.

A week ago on 20 April, LeEco unveiled impressive and long-awaited new range of products in Beijing, being the first internet ecosystem company in the world to release products belonging to distinct industries-electric vehicle, smartphone, TV, and VR. It has wowed the world, showcasing LeSEE’s first self-driving concept car and launching the ground-breaking second generation Superphones-Le 2, Le Max2 and Le 2Pro, the 4th generation Super TVs, LeVR device and the latest eUI 5.8 OS.

As the world’s first phone to come with USB Type-C audio port supported by CDLA (Continual Digital Lossless Audio) technology, the new Superphones have received a historic-high 23 million registrations, and achieved sales of 1.22 billion RMB (188 million USD), with a whopping 1 million units sold out in two hours after its first official sale kicks off across all platforms at 10am, 26 April, 2016. LeEco has broken two industry records as the fastest sales with the largest amount in China, and created a new record on JD. com with the biggest sales amount in a single day. Within 24 hours, the total sales of Superphones mount to 1.61 million units, breaking the sales of more than 1.9 billion RMB (293 million USD), which is unprecedented in the industry.

Le 1s Eco leads the way in the content game

LeEco is changing the smartphone landscape with their breakthrough technology and disruptive pricing. The company seems to be now ushering in a bold new era in an industry that is sorely lacking innovation!

With their new ‘Made for India’ smartphone – the Le 1s Eco whose launch event I attended – LeEco is not only taking competitors head on in the smartphone industry, but seems to be in the process of transforming the way users experience entertainment with their LeEco Membership Program.

LeEco Membership comprises 4 entertainment services – Video on Demand through the Levidi app, Live Channels on LIVE built‐in app, Music powered by Hungama Music and Live Concerts via LeMusic initiative – and is available for a price of Rs. 490 per month or an annual subscription of Rs. 4900.

Levidi is LeEco’s own video aggregator application that offers a choice of more than 2000 blockbuster films from the ErosNow stable in 10 languages – English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil,
Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

With LIVE, users get access to more than 100 television channels through a partnership with YuppTV. With the likes of Sony, Colors, Aaj Tak, Times Now, 9XM, Nickelodeon and more available, whatever your daily television fix is, LIVE delivers it.

The tie‐up with Hungama Music gives subscribers access to a catalogue of more than 3.5 million songs. What’s more, the music experience is completely ad‐free and streams high‐definition music at 320 kbps in 25 Indian and 6 international languages.

Members will also be able to watch more than 50 international rock, jazz, pop and classical live concerts, real‐time, from the comfort of their phones.

Besides VIP access to all Supertainment services, LeEco is also offering an unprecedented 5TB of LeEco Drive cloud storage along with Rs. 3,000 worth of coupons for their accessories.

In comparison, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3, the only other phone in the Indian market to offer a well‐advertised content bundle, was announced with a two‐month subscription to the Hungama film and music library. The LeEco Membership Program offers a one‐year subscription straight off the bat.

On the device front, the Le 1s Eco comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM and is priced at Rs. 9,999 for the company’s first sale on Flipkart on May 12. A version of the Redmi Note 3 is available in the market at the same price, but comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. Meanwhile, the top spec version of
the Redmi Note 3 will burn a Rs. 11,999‐sized hole in your pocket – a Rs. 2,000‐sized larger hole than the Le 1s Eco!

I did a bit of research on the internet and made a more detailed comparison chart of the LeEco Le 1s Eco against its competition in the market.

So what do you think of these Supertainment services and the Le 1s Eco smartphone that LeEco is providing? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Xiomi Redmi Note 4G : Not a great phone

I am a sucker for stuff which is not easily available in the market. I guess Xiomi / Flipkart ganged up together to take advantage of this stupid Indian mentality. They create artificial scarcity of product by asking you to register for this product first and then wait for the given time and date to add this product in your cart.

So guys, like a fool 2 minutes before the sale started I started staring at the screen and watching the counter as if my life depends upon it. So as the moment came I immediately clicked on the ‘BUY’ button and I was exhilarated to see that I was able to pick up this phone on Flipkart.

I then like a stupid fool started gloating over this as if I have achieved something, as if I have won a gold medal or something.

All this is OK, fine till I started using the product. There are glaring defects in this product.

  1. It heats up very fast once you start browsing the internet, use the apps like whatsapp or play games like Temple Run.

  2. The MI browser keeps crashing and displays the POPUP every now and then. “We are sorry that MI Browser is not working. Click the send report button to submit the Bug report or click on close button”.

  3. It hangs when you are clicking photos and there is an incoming call at the same time.

So my euphoria over the possession of a phone which was difficult to get in the first place turned in to disappointment. This journey from feeling like a winner to ending up like a looser just took 2-3 days.

For all the prospective buyers please beware that please don’t get in to this cheap thrills business.

I reported this to Flipkart with the request to please

  1. Fix this phone

OR

  1. Exchange this product for a new phone if sure that the new product will not have such defects

OR

  1. Give me a refund.

I got a call from the Flipkart executive that they are willing to replace defective phone with a new phone provided I have the original packing. And my god damn luck, I don’t have the original card board packing.

If anyone with little bit of common sense is hearing out there, I don’t need a new phone. I just need a phone without any defects.

I challenge any one from Xiomi / Flipkart to deny that these defects are figment of my imagination and Xiomi Note -4G is a good product.

Also I think we Indians have to learn that all this propaganda of asking you to register and keep you with awaited breath for the sales to begin is a false propaganda. Xiomi Red Note – 4G is just an ordinary product and not something to gloat over. I wish that Xiomi / Flipkart start treating Indian customers with little bit of respect and provide quality phones in the Indian market.
