With the Galaxy S26 Plus, Samsung is offering 7 years of major Android OS upgrades and 7 years of security patches, which is currently the longest in the flagship smartphones. I am hoping to see this trend in other brands, too, because I feel hardware alone cannot do enough to make a phone secure and updated.
I am seeing that portrait videos are improving in Samsung smartphones. While difficult lighting conditions affected the quality, the upgrades are improving the portrait videos. Someone I know has the Galaxy S26 Ultra and it was interesting to see that edge detection and transitions have been improved a lot. Probably not a marketing gimmick at all, but a worthy upgrade.
My mother barely use smartphones, she just only picks it up when it rings. Her phone is outdated. I am looking to switch her phone. I need a phone which has a large 6.7-inch display, simple UI, and great battery life. Which one should I prefer : Samsung Galaxy A17 5G or moto G64 5G?
