I already use a phone for entertainment, so what makes a tablet feel worth carrying around too?

I am considering getting one but do not want another device that simply duplicates what my phone already does.

Apple recently rolled out significant price hikes globally including MacBooks, iPads, and home entertainment devices.

Due to a rise in demand for AI infra, Apple has increased prices of Mac computers, iPads, and HomePods, citing rising costs of memory and storage components. Now a central question arises for me: will this push users to premium Windows laptops, or will they stick to the Apple ecosystem?

iPad vs Samsung Galaxy Tab: which would you choose for handwritten notes and PDFs?

I need a tablet for reading long documents, marking PDFs and taking notes during meetings. Entertainment is a bonus, but I don't want to spend extra on features I won't use.

The Future of Crypto-Based Ticketing

Blockchain-based tickets could potentially reduce counterfeit tickets, allow organisers to verify ownership, and give users more flexibility when transferring tickets. They could also allow artists and event organisers to receive royalties from secondary sales. Several music and entertainment companies have experimented with digital collectibles and blockchain-based ticketing, but mainstream adoption remains limited. Could blockchain eventually change how we buy and own event tickets?

Alright, can we talk about the Copilot “terms of use” debate?

Microsoft’s terms of use for Copilot says it is for “entertainment purposes only.” Is this an oversight, or is the company telling us not to use it for work? Should I stop using Copilot entirely?

Dhurandhar 2 vs Toxic: Which Film Will Dominate the Big Screen?

Dhurandhar 2 vs Toxic: Which Film Will Dominate the Big Screen?

What makes this comparison compelling is the contrast in approach. While Dhurandhar 2 may cater to the traditional mass audience looking for action, heroism, and entertainment value, Toxic could attract viewers seeking a more stylized and immersive storytelling experience. Ultimately, the success of each film may depend on execution, word of mouth, and how well they connect with their respective target audiences.

It will also be interesting to see which film performs better in terms of box office numbers, critical reception, and long-term audience recall. Will scale and franchise strength win, or will strong storytelling and tone make a bigger impact?

Which one are you more excited for — Dhurandhar 2 or Toxic? Share your expectations and predictions below!

Virtual social gatherings

What is the scope of virtual social or business gatherings? From what I have seen so far in the recent hype about the metaverse and the examples of avatars, I must say that most people do not have a clue about virtual worlds. In my own opinion the metaverse is the world wide web universe. In this metaverse are virtual worlds. Most of them are for gaming. A few are just social places where real life users visit for entertainment. The quality of the avatars vary from the cartoonish to the high end mesh models. These few virtual worlds can be used for businesses, confrences, weddings, birthdays, collecting NFTs and so on. I have been in virtual worlds for the last 22 years and am quite familiar with the systems.

Le 1s Eco leads the way in the content game

LeEco is changing the smartphone landscape with their breakthrough technology and disruptive pricing. The company seems to be now ushering in a bold new era in an industry that is sorely lacking innovation!

With their new ‘Made for India’ smartphone – the Le 1s Eco whose launch event I attended – LeEco is not only taking competitors head on in the smartphone industry, but seems to be in the process of transforming the way users experience entertainment with their LeEco Membership Program.

LeEco Membership comprises 4 entertainment services – Video on Demand through the Levidi app, Live Channels on LIVE built‐in app, Music powered by Hungama Music and Live Concerts via LeMusic initiative – and is available for a price of Rs. 490 per month or an annual subscription of Rs. 4900.

Levidi is LeEco’s own video aggregator application that offers a choice of more than 2000 blockbuster films from the ErosNow stable in 10 languages – English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil,
Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

With LIVE, users get access to more than 100 television channels through a partnership with YuppTV. With the likes of Sony, Colors, Aaj Tak, Times Now, 9XM, Nickelodeon and more available, whatever your daily television fix is, LIVE delivers it.

The tie‐up with Hungama Music gives subscribers access to a catalogue of more than 3.5 million songs. What’s more, the music experience is completely ad‐free and streams high‐definition music at 320 kbps in 25 Indian and 6 international languages.

Members will also be able to watch more than 50 international rock, jazz, pop and classical live concerts, real‐time, from the comfort of their phones.

Besides VIP access to all Supertainment services, LeEco is also offering an unprecedented 5TB of LeEco Drive cloud storage along with Rs. 3,000 worth of coupons for their accessories.

In comparison, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3, the only other phone in the Indian market to offer a well‐advertised content bundle, was announced with a two‐month subscription to the Hungama film and music library. The LeEco Membership Program offers a one‐year subscription straight off the bat.

On the device front, the Le 1s Eco comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM and is priced at Rs. 9,999 for the company’s first sale on Flipkart on May 12. A version of the Redmi Note 3 is available in the market at the same price, but comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. Meanwhile, the top spec version of
the Redmi Note 3 will burn a Rs. 11,999‐sized hole in your pocket – a Rs. 2,000‐sized larger hole than the Le 1s Eco!

I did a bit of research on the internet and made a more detailed comparison chart of the LeEco Le 1s Eco against its competition in the market.

So what do you think of these Supertainment services and the Le 1s Eco smartphone that LeEco is providing? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
