Why do some tablets feel awkward to carry even though they’re supposed to be portable?

I’m looking at larger tablets because the screen is better for reading. But once you add a case and keyboard, it starts feeling almost like a laptop.

The tablet itself is fine until you add a case and keyboard. Then it starts feeling like a small laptop.
