Financial institutions adopting blockchain technology is a positive step, but faster settlement alone does not make investing more accessible. If tokenised bonds remain available primarily to large institutions, much of their potential benefit could be limited to making existing processes more efficient. The real breakthrough would be allowing more investors to access financial products with lower costs, greater transparency, and fewer intermediaries. Blockchain adoption should be judged by what it changes for investors, not just by how quickly transactions settle.
