LeEco Le 1s - Fast & Fantastic (full review)

Display:
The LeEco or we can say LeTv Le 1s comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS screen which offers 403 pixel Density (PPI). It also comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protecting your screen from any kind of damage and harm screen and it also offers good sunlight visibility because of its deep blacks it offers in the screen quality. The screen quality looks sharp, crisp, with deep black which we found in devices which offers super amoled displays. The device is also having great viewing angles with great color reproduction and colors can also be adjusted by going into the setting menu. The Device comes with almost a bezel less design and due to which it looks just too awesome while in the hand.
Design and Build:
The full metallic unibody design with chamfered edges on the Le 1S look prominent and seems like it’s a high priced premium device. Very well made, a good finishing of the handset makes it you don’t want to let it go off your hands. 169 grams is a quite light weight for a 5.5-inch device having a metallic body because metals are heavier than plastics materials.
The added stuff that caught our attention is the fingerprint scanner and the USB Type-C which most of the phone in this segment do not offer. Another important thing to note is it comes with a 32 GB storage which is again a plus one.
Performance:
The Le 1S is powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 Turbo (MT6795) SoC that has 8 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz coupled with 3 GB of RAM and a PowerVR 6200 GPU. The processor is quite powerful and can handle multitasking with ease. We ran several apps to check the performance of the hardware and it turns out that we didn’t notice any single lag while performing basic operations. Apps such as Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, Soundcloud, Flipkart, Shareit and few others were installed that includes games. We also did not face any crash reports from our tested apps. The performance highly fluid. The 3 GB RAM can hold as many apps for multi-tasking. The performance was mind blowing in our case.
Software & UI:
We noticed that the touch response is very fast and the software experience was very smooth and intuitive. There aren’t any preinstalled apps that come with Le 1S thus, it is free from any bloatware.
The user interface doesn’t offer an app drawer and a much simpler UI with everything’s on the homescreen. What I liked the most is the recent button menu. When you press the recent button, you will be presented with a plethora of shortcuts and options other than just recent apps. Usually, the recent menu on a regular smartphone consists of the apps that you have opened it and used it recently, but in this case, the LeEco did something innovative that no one did. They added all the shortcuts that a user wants on a single button, that means, no one will have to swipe the notifications bar as well as to go inside the settings.
Camera:
The Le 1s has a 13-megapixel Rear Camera and a 5-megapixel Front Camera. It’s camera interface is quite simple. Talking about custom settings, you can adjust the white balance, ISO level, exposure, sharpness, saturation and contrast levels. It comes with four modes to choose from – standard, panorama, video, slow motion. It comes with different colour filters and users can preview before they are shot. The rear camera focuses the object very fast and captures good images in daylight. The rear camera can also shoot 4K Videos, which is impressive. While using the camera we also noticed that both the cameras detects the face very fast and captures images without any shutter lag. The camera captures good amount of details in daylight while just like its other competitors in the market, the camera lacks low-light photography. Overall, both the cameras performs very well and captures good pictures.
Verdict:
The LeEco Le 1s is a Premium Smartphone which offers great specifications. It is the best smartphone available right now at this price range. The Le 1s with 3GB of Ram, full-metal unibody design, USB Type-C and fingerprint sensor is ruling the budget segment. The smartphone is exclusively available on Flipkart. Highly Recommended 

Le 1s Eco leads the way in the content game

LeEco is changing the smartphone landscape with their breakthrough technology and disruptive pricing. The company seems to be now ushering in a bold new era in an industry that is sorely lacking innovation!

With their new ‘Made for India’ smartphone – the Le 1s Eco whose launch event I attended – LeEco is not only taking competitors head on in the smartphone industry, but seems to be in the process of transforming the way users experience entertainment with their LeEco Membership Program.

LeEco Membership comprises 4 entertainment services – Video on Demand through the Levidi app, Live Channels on LIVE built‐in app, Music powered by Hungama Music and Live Concerts via LeMusic initiative – and is available for a price of Rs. 490 per month or an annual subscription of Rs. 4900.

Levidi is LeEco’s own video aggregator application that offers a choice of more than 2000 blockbuster films from the ErosNow stable in 10 languages – English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil,
Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

With LIVE, users get access to more than 100 television channels through a partnership with YuppTV. With the likes of Sony, Colors, Aaj Tak, Times Now, 9XM, Nickelodeon and more available, whatever your daily television fix is, LIVE delivers it.

The tie‐up with Hungama Music gives subscribers access to a catalogue of more than 3.5 million songs. What’s more, the music experience is completely ad‐free and streams high‐definition music at 320 kbps in 25 Indian and 6 international languages.

Members will also be able to watch more than 50 international rock, jazz, pop and classical live concerts, real‐time, from the comfort of their phones.

Besides VIP access to all Supertainment services, LeEco is also offering an unprecedented 5TB of LeEco Drive cloud storage along with Rs. 3,000 worth of coupons for their accessories.

In comparison, Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3, the only other phone in the Indian market to offer a well‐advertised content bundle, was announced with a two‐month subscription to the Hungama film and music library. The LeEco Membership Program offers a one‐year subscription straight off the bat.

On the device front, the Le 1s Eco comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM and is priced at Rs. 9,999 for the company’s first sale on Flipkart on May 12. A version of the Redmi Note 3 is available in the market at the same price, but comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. Meanwhile, the top spec version of
the Redmi Note 3 will burn a Rs. 11,999‐sized hole in your pocket – a Rs. 2,000‐sized larger hole than the Le 1s Eco!

I did a bit of research on the internet and made a more detailed comparison chart of the LeEco Le 1s Eco against its competition in the market.

So what do you think of these Supertainment services and the Le 1s Eco smartphone that LeEco is providing? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

The New Xolo Hive!

Xolo, on the other hand has started promoting its unannounced Hive UI with a dedicated page that come with taglines such as "And right now there's something different brewing at Xolo. Stay curious," "Soon you will too. The revolution has begun," and "A revolution is in the works. Stay tuned."

Other quotes from the Hive teaser page, read, "Imagine if you had the power to change your phone the way you want to. Like play dough. The music player is yours. The contact book is yours. The themes are yours. Imagine what it would be like to create things based on your ideas. Wouldn't that be wonderful?... So the next probable question itself is what exactly is Hive? We would say, imagine a forge. You are the knights who would want blades made of Valerian steel. We the forgers make that possible because the steel we create is malleable to your likes and dislikes. Hive is that forge. It's a platform where we follow democracy in creation... The Hive pits the thinkers and the doers together under one huge umbrella so that the result is beneficial for both."

All this seems to indicate a UI that is very customisable, and that partially ties-in with the fact that Xolo is also said to be working with a designer community to create themes for its new UI and might also announce a new store for its smartphone consumers where all the exclusive content will be available for download.

Earlier on Monday, Xolo's first Windows Phone 8.1-based smartphone, the Win Q900s went up for pre-order at Rs. 9,999.

Last week, the company launched a new Android 4.4 KitKat-based smartphone in India, the Q1011 at Rs. 9,999.
