Tokenised Stocks Need to Offer More Than a Crypto Trading Experience
Tokenised stocks are often presented as a way to make traditional investments easier to trade. However, companies including Oracle, Intel and IBM have reportedly objected to plans to tokenise their shares through a proposed trading platform. That highlights a key issue: putting a stock on a blockchain does not automatically settle questions about ownership, shareholder rights or market integrity. I think tokenisation has potential, but the industry should prove that it improves the investor experience instead of simply adding a blockchain layer.
