I’ve been wanting to pick up a wearable, but I’m confused whether to get a fitness band or go all-out with a smartwatch. Bands seem simple, while smartwatches offer a lot more but cost more, too. What actually makes more sense for long-term daily use?
Most of the smartwatches are already equipped with fitness tracking abilities, like heart rate sensors, built-in GPS, and health tracking. I have seen many people wearing fitness bands while working out. What’s better? Does a fitness band really make a difference, or is a smartwatch enough? Any comments?
What is interesting about smart wearables now that it is entering the screenless fitness band category is that it is not just the product. It is a sign of things to come. I have often noticed that smartwatches are average in tracking actual health data. Whoop, however, has integrated a board-certified physician into its app to explain fatigue and recovery data, which sounds much more practical instead of just feeling like a gimmick. But do we actually need expert guidance to make our wearable more valuable?
