My OnePlus Watch 3 won't sync with Google Fit?

Recently, I have bought the OnePlus Watch 3, but noticed a difference in numbers with my step count when compared with Google Fit. I am unable to sync my watch with Google Fit. Is this a Wear OS 5 bug, or is there a hidden permission I need to toggle?

I think this issue can be fixed with just an update. Reset and reinstall the app, and clear caches within your Android phone settings.
