Is a laptop with soldered RAM a deal-breaker for long-term ownership?

I found a laptop that otherwise matches my requirements, but its RAM cannot be upgraded later. I usually keep my devices for four to five years.

It would make me think twice. I would buy enough RAM upfront rather than depend on the current workload staying the same.
