Has anyone regretted buying an oversized AC for a small bedroom?

I'm comparing capacities for a room that gets warm during the day but cools down at night. I don't want to overspend on a larger unit if it doesn't improve comfort in the way I expect.

I'd calculate the cooling requirement properly instead of assuming bigger is always better.
