Are online deals really trustworthy?

Sometimes I come across deals that, at face value, look like they are too good to be true. Most of these are from websites I've never shopped at. Are these deals trustworthy? How do I verify if they are "actually" good?

I think this post by AliExpress pretty much sums up all the important information, and I think it is broadly applicable across different sites. The basic rule is - if it is too good to be true, then it is not true.

I'd say avoid all unknown websites as much as possible. You can follow some trustworthy Twitter accounts such as dealsforgeeks that separate the good deals from the bad. I only shop from Amazon and Flipkart and that too only when it's Fulfilled by Amazon or sold by WS Retail.
