Are gaming headphones actually good for listening to music?

I need one pair of headphones for gaming, music and video calls. Dedicated gaming models have microphones and surround features, but I am unsure how they perform for everyday music listening.

Some gaming headphones sound quite good, but don't buy one just for virtual surround sound. Comfort, microphone quality and audio tuning matter more.
