A Blockchain Restart After a Hack Should Not Be Celebrated as a Recovery

When a blockchain resumes operations after an exploit, it is tempting to treat the restart as a success. But a functioning network and a successful recovery are two different things. Users may still face losses, unresolved claims, or uncertainty about whether the vulnerability has truly been fixed. The industry should stop measuring post-hack recovery by uptime alone and start measuring it by accountability, verified security improvements, and the treatment of affected users.
