Why do washing machines have such different spin speeds, and does anyone actually notice the difference?

I’m comparing two machines and one has a much higher RPM. Trying to figure out if this matters outside of the specification sheet.

You do notice it when drying clothes indoors. Higher spin leaves them noticeably less wet in my experience.
