I am considering an AC for a room that gets direct sunlight most of the day. Anything I should keep in mind?

The room is not very large, but it becomes much hotter than the rest of the house during the afternoon.

I had the same situation. A properly sized inverter AC worked much better, and using curtains during peak sunlight also helped.
