Help me choose: Prioritizing clean software and longevity over raw camera specifications

I am helping my dad pick out a new phone that he intends to keep for at least the next 4 or 5 years. He does not care about crazy 100x zoom lenses or gimmicky curved screens he just wants an interface with zero bloatware, clean menus, and a guarantee of long-term security patches. Should I choose the Pixel lineup, Motorola, or go for something that offers software reliability?
